How it works
You type one line. The format supplies everything else: the camera, the framing, the pacing, the lighting and the sound design are already written and are restated for every scene, which is what keeps a multi-scene video looking like one video.
You choose how many scenes and how long each one runs, from one to ten scenes of five to ten seconds. The length of the video is that multiplication, and so is the price. The default here is 4 scenes of 8 seconds.
The cheapest version of this format is 175 credits. Animated video is 35 credits per second of finished video in HD, 25 at Standard quality and 65 at Full HD. Plans start at $19 a month for 3,000 credits.
Why this format works
The appeal is a mismatch your brain cannot resolve. You know what a blueberry sounds like, and glass sounds nothing like that, so the audio keeps contradicting the shape on screen. That contradiction is what stops the scroll.
It is also entirely narration-free, which means it works with the sound on in a silent feed and needs no script, no voice and no captions. There is nothing to read and nothing to translate.
And it is endlessly repeatable without going stale, because the format is fixed and only the subject changes. That is exactly the shape a short-form series needs.
Picking a subject that renders well
- Name the food and the material in one line. Blue glass blueberries on toast works. Something satisfying does not, because the generator has nothing to render.
- Pick materials that are genuinely translucent: glass, crystal, amber resin, hard candy, jade, quartz. Opaque materials lose the light play that carries the shot.
- Match the material colour to the real food. Red crystal strawberries read instantly. A blue strawberry reads as a mistake.
- Small foods work better than large ones. Berries, grapes, citrus segments and cherry tomatoes shard convincingly. A whole melon does not.
- One scene is a complete video in this format. More scenes give you more variations of the same idea, and each is charged separately.
Frequently asked questions
Does the video come with sound?
Yes. The clips are generated with their own audio, which is where the clinking and scraping come from. Background music is deliberately unavailable on this format, because a music bed over ASMR audio defeats the point of it.
Can I add a voiceover or captions?
No, and that is on purpose. The format is narration-free by construction, so script, voiceover and captions are all turned off. Adding a voice over an ASMR video breaks the effect it exists to create.
How long should one of these be?
One scene of five to ten seconds is a complete video. Most that perform well run under 15 seconds. You can go up to ten scenes, but past two or three variations the idea has usually landed.
What does it cost?
35 credits per second of finished video in HD, so a single 5-second clip is 175 credits and a 10-second one is 350. Standard quality is 25 credits a second.
